The Dwarka Expressway stretch of 19 km in Gurugram is expected to be opened soon.

Dwarka Expressway will start from Shiv Murti along the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway, and connect Dwarka (in Delhi) to Gurugram (in Haryana).

The Dwarka Expressway project is one of the most anticipated projects in Delhi, NCR. It will make it easier for commuters to travel from Delhi to Gurugram, or vice versa. The 28.5-km-long Dwarka Expressway, also known as NH 248-BB, starts at Shiv-Murti in Mahipalpur along National Highway 8 and ends at the Kherki Daula Toll Plaza. Dwarka Expressway was India’s first elevated highway project.

Reports state that the 19-km stretch between the Delhi-Gurgaon borders and Kherki Daula, Haryana will be open to traffic in the first week of the month. TOI reported that the remaining 9.5 km of expressway in Delhi is expected to be finished by June. The inauguration will likely take place before the Model Code of Conduct comes into force ahead of the Lok Sabha election in April or May.

The cost to build the 34-meter-wide expressway is Rs 9,000 crore. The expressway is designed to be an eight-lane, grade separated highway. The journey from Delhi to Manesar takes only 15 minutes with this expressway.
It is also known as the Northern Peripheral Road. It starts at Shiv Murti, on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway. This road will connect Dwarka (in Delhi) to Gurgaon (in Haryana). The road will have the largest and most spacious urban road tunnels in the country. It measures 3.6 km in length with 8 lanes.

To avoid traffic congestion, the project’s state-of-the-art highway will have designated entry points along service roads. The highway also features four multi-level intersections and underpasses for cross-roads at major junctions. Construction work on the Dwarka expressway started in 2018.
